This morning Taylor and I went down
to a big park near the church and we went for a little jog so that was fun
being able to see a new area. After that we went into Madrid to help with the
English classes. This time we went to the Basic class, so the people that came
to that class didn’t know much English at all. We learned about vowels and
phrases for the future. My favorite part though is talking to them afterwards.
They all are so cute, and want to practice their English or love talking in
Spanish too. We then came back for lunch with Blanca and she made her delicious
Tortilla de España so that was delicious. After that we went back into Madrid
to meet up with some others in our group to do one of our walks. We found an
H&M that used to be in an old palace so that was fun to see. Today is
Carnaval-a big holiday here where people dress up, kinda like Halloween, and
there are parades and tons of people literally everywhere. The energy and buzz
in the city was so fun I loved it. We watched the parade and then there was a fireworks
show afterwards off of one of the buildings in town and it was awesome! After
the show we went to a café and got a treat before heading back home. Blanca had
our dinner for us, when we got home at 12:30…the mealtime schedule is
definitely a lot different here than back home haha.
