Today we had all our classes since we won’t be having class
all week. After classes Taylor and I went to the grocery store to get some food
for the upcoming week. So that was fun! I think it is fun to see all the
different foods here, and also the American foods intermixed as well. Some
differences though definitely would be all the cured meat hanging around, the
aisle of milk-not fridges-aisle, and how you weigh your fruit in the produce
section rather than at the cash register. I thought that was a pretty good
idea. Oh and they charge you for a plastic bag! So that was new haha. Then we
came back for lunch with Blanca and she made the Spanish potato tortilla that
is delicious with these peas that we love so it was great. After lunch we met
up with Cassie, our director’s daughter and we caught the bus to go to our
religion class. We were there a little early so we waited outside and enjoyed
the sun today! While we were sitting there this boy probably around 10 years
old came up and tried talking to us in English and asked if we could help him
to pay for this trip he is taking to the sea. So of course I couldn’t say no
because he was a cute little kid and he had the guts to come talk to us and
speak in English so I felt good about that haha. Religion class was great, we
learned about Gibraltar some more and the history of the Church in Spain.
Afterwards, for Family Home Evening our group went to an ice cream shop and had
our spiritual thought and ended up interpreting each other’s dreams haha it was
fun though! I’m really glad all of the people that are on this trip are so
great, it definitely makes it nice.
