Today we had church again in
Alcala. The younger women in Relief Society had class in a different room
taught by a girl about our age. It was good we talked about the Holy Ghost and
that was good. I also sat next to a guy named Adriane, and his older sister was
my Spanish teacher over at BYU this past semester! So that was kinda crazy haha
and fun. Small world. One of the talks in Sacrament Meeting was by a native
English speaker so I was actually able to understand him! Always a plus. After
church we had a big lunch with Blanca, she made chicken and potatoes and salad
and lots of yummy food. That night we met at the Knapp’s house and had a little
devotional and we talked about being grateful and how we have such an
opportunity to be here and that we are with a BYU group. We were talking with
Blanca today at lunch and she was telling us about all the different girls she
has housed here over the years. She has been doing this for almost 20 years! So
she has a lot of experience ha but she was telling us about how she has had
problems with girls staying out all night, or coming home drunk, or having a
really messy room or different things; but she talked about how much she loves
having the Mormonas. I thought it was cool how she could see the differences
among the students, but also how those members that she has hosted before also
stayed true to our standards and were good examples. Sometimes people just make
me so happy and it gives me faith in the humanity of today’s world:] ha But yaa
the Knapp’s house as good we had a great discussion. Andd Jill made apple crisp
with vanilla ice cream and it was soo good!
