Today we started the day off right
and went to see the Temple! It was so pretty and white amongst all the other
tall kinda darkish buildings around it. When we walked into the church building
we ran into some missionaries that were teaching an English class, so we were
able to help them out! I loved it. It was so fun we helped with the advanced
class who knew more English than not, so we divided into smaller groups and we
talked about what we did this week in English and then ended up talking about
Madrid and stuff in English. It was a lot of fun I really liked it. One of the
guys told us about a drink where you mix Coca Cola and red wine together and we
told him about how we don’t drink alcohol and stuff and talked about that for a
little bit and then he wrote the name of it down for us so we could remember it
if anyone offered it to us or anything haha it was cute but way funny too they
were such fun people. I really liked it! I hope to see them again, whether it
be in another English class or somewhere else. After that we went to the Teatro
Real and walked around the Plaza right there and we got a bite to eat at this
little street café called Café or Té. I brought my lunch so I got some
chocolate ice cream to go with it:] It was really good and fun to just sit and
relax, talk and eat for a few hours. The only weird thing was that people from
the street would come right to us and ask for money and stuff like that but the
waitress would call them off and stuff so that was really nice of her, I really
liked the service there. After we had lunch we went to the Old North Train
Station over by the Gate of Toledo and we walked around the mall for a little
while as we waited for a few of our friends to meet us there. Then we went and
saw the statue of the famous painter Goya and the chapel he is supposedly
buried under. Then we rode the train over to where the American Museum is and
this Aviation Museum looking place that had the airplane outside that was flown
to Argentina from Spain and it took 58 hours!! I took a picture of it for the
boys because it made me think of them ha. I want to go back to both of those
museums to see what they have and stuff. Our last big thing we saw was where
they have the bull fights. It was this huge beautiful building that was amazing.
Before we headed home for dinner we went and got some ice cream, again haha. I
don’t think it is possible for me to have too much ice cream. I had another
great day today! I loved everything we did and I am falling more in love with
Spain each minute I am here.
